Homemade Electrolyte Drink

Yesterday my 7 year old daughter came home from school feeling less than hot. She doesn't do "sick". She doesn't rest well. Thankfully, she doesn't get sick very often, and thankfully to the immune support provided by our essential oils, she doesn't stay sick long if/when she actually does catch a bug.

We discovered a fantastic homemade electrolyte drink and love it! Best part? No artificial crap! Take a moment sometime to look at some of the electrolyte drinks offered at the supermarket, you'd be horrified at some of the ingredients. Sports drink seem no better, containing other harmful ingredients like brominated vegetable oils and refined sugars with artificial coloring.

Check HERE for more information on why electrolytes are so important.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR VERY OWN HOMEMADE ELECTROLYTE DRINK

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 Cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/4 Cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 Cups of filtered water
  • 2-4 tablespoons raw honey (to taste)
  • 1/8 teaspoon Himalayan Pink Salt or Celtic Sea Salt (I prefer the Himalayan)
Directions:
In a blender, blend all of the ingredients together until the honey is dissolved. Taste test and adjust as needed.

Enjoy!

This is a fantastic blender to use for this recipe. We also love to serve in our favorite Mason Jars!

Some other natural options include drinking organic coconut water, Homemade Sports Drinks or even Homemade Vegetable or Vegetable and Juice drinks.

Why spend the money on artificially flavored drinks when you can make your own scrumptious version at home with healthy ingredients?
